Roy E. Fournier, 91, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion (Evans) Fournier, and the son of the late Magdalene (Becker) Fournier.
His clever yet good-natured demeanor earned him the nickname "Rascal" Roy. After serving honorably in World War II with the U.S. Army 94th Infantry, Roy took a job at Connecticut Printers, where he remained for 43 years. He was an active member of many pillars of the community, including the Church of the Holy Spirit, VFW Cromwell Post 2138, and Capital City Rifle and Pistol Club.
He is mourned by his daughter, Katherine (Fournier) Williams and her husband, Paul; his two grandchildren, Keith and Cory Williams; his daughter-in-law Sharon; several nieces and nephews; and many others who weren't related by blood, but who considered him a father figure and role model all the same. He was predeceased by his son, David, and his brother, Bob.
