
Stephen Kuzoian, 89, of Newington, passed into eternity with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016. He was the best friend and beloved husband of Elsie (Magee) Kuzoian for 64 years.
Born in Edgewood, RI, son of the late Stephen and Paris (Asadorian) Kuzoian, he moved to Connecticut in 1939 and lived in Newington for most of the remainder of his life.
Steve is survived by three loving sons and daughters-in-law; Stephen Jr. and Sue of Winter Park, FL, Douglas and Julie of Rocky Hill, Jeffrey and Dorothy of Berlin. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Brett, DJ, Michaela, Laura, Paris, Sami and Jeffrey. He also leaves his two brothers, Robert Kuzoian of Chatham, MA, and Donald Kuzoian and his wife Isabel of Newington and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Kuzoian and his wife Nancy and his sister-in-law, Helen Kuzoian.

Steve and Elsie were founders and co-owners of Steve's Place in Newington for 30 years. Stephen was very much involved with Newington Little League and American Legion Baseball. With Coach Bob Davis, he was founder and first President of the Newington Baseball Association.
During World War II, he rose to the rank of Sgt. while serving on Leyte Island in the Philippines. With his brothers, he founded the 3 Sons Drive-In Restaurants of Wethersfield, Elmwood and Farmington. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School Class of 1944 and Hillyer College, now the University of Hartford.

Stephen earned a five year pin from Singer Sewing Machine Co. as a field auditor, and was employed by Shearson Lehman American Express as a stock broker before settling down for a lifetime in the restaurant business with his wife and sons. Stephen always reserved Sundays for the Church of Christ and his family.
His family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Apple Rehab of Rocky Hill for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, Oct. 3rd, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest following the service with military honors in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
