
Woodrow Warren, 97, husband of the late Lucille Warren, of Wethersfield, passed away July 11, 2016 in Covenant Village, Cromwell.
He was born in Ansonia, son of the late Stanley and Rosalie Warren on February 19, 1919. Woodrow served in the US Army during WWI, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, and retired after 21 years as a Colonel. He then went on to teach Science and Biology at Newington High School for 20 years.
Woodrow was a member of the Retired Newington Teachers Bowling League and the Goodwin Park Seniors Golf League. He also enjoyed Salt Water Fishing and watching UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

Woodrow leaves his three sons; Gary Warren and his wife Debie of CA., James C. Warren and his wife Kitty of South Windsor and Thomas R. Warren and his wife Sandra of Middletown and five grandchildren, Michelle, Kelly, Jay, Carrie and Jessica. He also leaves his sister Frances O’Day. He was pre-deceased by his sister Sally Schultz.
Friends may call on Friday July 15, 2016 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. Burial with Military Honors will be held Saturday July 16, 2016 at 11:30 in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457.
