Newington Package Store Robbed At Gunpoint: Police

The Newington PD is seeking two male suspects in connection with the Thursday night incident.

NEWINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating an armed robbery at a local package store Thursday night.

According to the Newington Police Department Friday afternoon, the incident happened at about 8:49 p.m. at the Country Package Store, 256 Hartford Ave., Newington.

Police said they were called for a report of a robbery in progress and security camera footage showed two male suspects.

The NPD said one of the suspects brandished a firearm during the robbery.

The first suspect is described as a large, Black male wearing a green sweatshirt, black pants, and winter-style hat, according to police.

Newington police said the second suspect is described as a thin Black male wearing an orange sweatshirt and dark pants with lighter gray and blue on the bottom.

"The public is urged not to confront these suspects as they were observed to be armed with a firearm," wrote the NPD in a statement Friday afternoon.
