Newington Police Make Arrest In Storage Facility Burglary
Police arrested a man and are searching for another suspect in a burglary at a storage facility early Wednesday morning.
NEWINGTON, CT — Police have arrested a man and are attempting to identify a second suspect in a burglary. The crime occurred at Prime Storage at 350 Alumni Road in Newington.
Police were alerted to the break-in at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday by a worker at a neighboring business. The worker reported hearing the sounds of power tools being used on the property of Prime Storage.
Police arrived and said they found a man, later identified as Jack Mickey Marrero, 21, of Palmer, MA, walking inside the property wearing black clothing and a mask covering his face.

Marrero ran away from officers on foot and was captured after a short foot pursuit. Marrero was found to have burglary tools in his possession at the time he was taken into custody, police said.
Marrero was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, interfering with officers, and possession of burglary tools. Marrero was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on July 7.

Officers saw a second suspect wearing dark clothing on the property who ran from officers and has not been identified.
Police said an investigation revealed that at least three storage lockers were forcefully opened on the property.
