Newington Pot Store Evacuated After Bomb Threat: Police
Local police are seeking the public's help in investigating the incident.
NEWINGTON, CT — A local pot dispensary was targeted Monday by someone threatening to bomb the facility.
According to the Newington Police Department Tuesday morning, officers were called Monday at 4:48 p.m. to the Fine Fettle Dispensary, 2280 Berlin Turpike, for a bomb threat that came through the pot store's online ordering system.
Newington officers evacuated the business, as well as surrounding businesses in that area.

This prompted local police to call the Hartford Bomb Squad, which ruled the area safe after a search with a bomb detection dog.
The Fine Fettle Dispensary and neighboring businesses were cleared to resume normal operations after the search, police said.

"The threat is believed to be specific to only the Fine Fettle Dispensary location in Newington," wrote Newington police Tuesday.
"The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the Newington Police Department will be providing an increased presence in the area out of an abundance of caution."
