Newington PZC Endorses Adult Beverages at Ax Throwing Venue
The Newington PZC has approved a plan to serve adult beverages at an Ax throwing venue.

NEWINGTON, CT — The Newington Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday endorsed a permit that allows the operators of a recreational ax throwing venue to sell adult beverages, namely wine, beer and cider and wine, at their facility.
The decision was made at the commission's regularly scheduled meeting. Click here for the agenda. Stipulations include beverages must be served in cans or disposable plastic cups.
The next step is the for owners to obtain a state tavern permit.

The ax throwing venue is called Montana Nights and is located at 80 Fenn Road. The plan is to open in late July. The design includes seven ax throwing pits, supervised by instructors. That's one fewer than the original plan.
Montana Nights is Connecticut’s first indoor Ax Throwing venue.

The company's motto, posted on Facebook, is, "We aim to provide a safe, fun and exciting new option for families, corporate events, bachelor/bachelorette parties, Boy Scout/Girl Scout events and more."
