Newington's WWII Vet Francis Curtis Is 97 Today!

There Was A Parade That Drove By His House!

Francis Curtis is a World War II Army Veteran who served from 1944 – 1946. He served in the 78th Infantry division, known as “Lightning”, and served in the European Theater in France, Germany and Belgium. He was there for the Battle of the Bulge and at the Bridge at Remagen. Mr. Francis was wounded twice and was one of 15 siblings of which 6 proudly served in the military.

The Parade Sponsored by the WWII Legacy Foundation, escorted by the Fire and Police Department, started at 11:00 a.m. It was a short drive to Mr. Francis’s house on Audubon Ave. The World War II Legacy Foundation brought a large card for Mr. Francis.
