Rooster Company’s Matt Backe & Rich Jurman Present New Oktoberfest-Inspired Menu

Beginning Friday, September 23rd, Rooster Co. in Newington will be offering an Oktoberfest-themed menu presented by Chef’s Matt Backe and Rich Jurman. The new German inspired menu will be available at dinner for one week only, ending Friday, September 30th.

“It’s a great time of year to showcase the array of talent Rooster Co. has behind our kitchen,” says Rooster Co. Co-Owner and Executive Chef Kenneth “KC” Ward. “Our chefs are among the best in the industry and their German inspired Oktoberfest menu reflects their venturous side to a specialty craft just perfectly.”

A variety of German foods being served include the Rübe Salad with pickled local beets, fennel, and herbs with homemade birch tree vinaigrette for $6. Other dishes like the House Made Bratwurst Threesome with smoked pork bratwurst, veal weisswurst, and chicken sausage have been cased in-house and prepared to be served with a beer and butter glazed potato, home made sauerkraut and beer mustard for $20.

Other mains include a Geräuchert Pork Chop consisting of an Adolph's smoked pork chop, braised red cabbage, tart apple salad, and grated horseradish for $21 and 'SAUERBRATEN’ Spatburgunder Carpaccio, a marinated beef tenderloin with red wine jus, burnt shallot aioli, ginger caraway 'sand', and fermented carrots for $12.

Diners are encouraged to save room for the Kürbis Bretzel Bread Pudding made with local pumpkin, house made sourdough pretzel, sage cream, and black cherry for $6.
