SUV Crashes Into Newington Storefront, Injuries Reported: Reports

Portion of Berlin Turnpike was closed for a bit, but it was reopened earlier Monday morning. Injuries not believed to be life threatening.

NEWINGTON, CT — The status of the driver and passenger in an SUV that plowed into a store on the Berlin Turnpike appears to have improved, local police told a newspaper.

According to the Hartford Courant, a man and woman were taken to the hospital after the crash overnight, but the injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening.

WFSB Channel 3 reports the vehicle hit the "FloorsNow!" store on the Berlin Turnpike overnight Sunday into Monday.

The road was eventually closed, but it reopened by 4 a.m. Monday, WFSB reported.
