UConn Hoops Star To Appear At Newington Restaurant This Week
The superstar player will visit CAVA in Newington this week as part of a national NIL campaign.
NEWINGTON, CT — A local eatery is getting a special guest this week in the form of a University of Connecticut Husky superstar.
CAVA will host women's basketball star Azzi Fudd on Thursday, Feb. 19, as part of a national name, image, and likeness (NIL) campaign highlighting student-athletes.
Fudd, a guard for the UConn Huskies women's basketball, is scheduled to appear from 4 to 5 p.m. at the restaurant’s location at 3323 Berlin Turnpike in Newington.

The event is billed as a VIP athlete appearance, offering fans an opportunity to meet Fudd and take photos, time permitting.
The appearance is part of CAVA’s broader NIL campaign in partnership with YellowDot.

The company said the campaign spotlights student-athletes as creators, leaders, and community builders on and off the court.
During the event, CAVA plans to share details about a new Azzi Fudd CAVA bowl, available nationwide via digital orders from March 16 through April 17.
The Newington appearance is designed as a community-focused celebration of basketball and food, and is expected to draw local fans and customers to the Berlin Turnpike restaurant.
