Woman Dead After Head-On Crash In Newington: Police
The accident resulted in one of the vehicles overturning after the Tuesday night collision, police said.

NEWINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating a violent crash on a Newington street that claimed the life of a woman Tuesday night.
According to the Newington Police Department Wednesday morning, NPD officers were called at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday to East Cedar Street, east of Patricia Genova Drive for a motor vehicle crash.
Police said two vehicles collided head-on, with one of the vehicles involved rolling over.

According to the NPD, one male operator sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
One female operator, sadly, sustained serious injuries and required extrication from her vehicle by the Newington Volunteer Fire Department, police said.

According to the NPD, the female operator was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Police did not release the woman's identity, saying they will do so once all family are notified.
The Mid State Accident Reconstruction Squad is currently investigating the accident.
