Recent Death Notices From New London County: Hoye, Scarpa, Lozier

NEW LONDON, CT — Recent death notices from New London County:

Anthony Bernardo Scarpa, 93 of Gales Ferry, served in the U.S. Navy before beginning a over three-decade career as an electrical ship superintendent with General Dynamics Electric Boat.

June M. Hoye, 89, of East Lyme, taught English at Ledyard High School for two years before teaching at Waterford High School for over 20 years.

Joseph Albert Lozier, 80, of Ledyard, served as minister of education at Calvary Temple in Groton.

Brian Thomson, 69, of Groton, was the owner of Brian's Just off the Green at Shennecossett Golf Course.

George Papadopoulos, 88, of Waterford, served in the U.S. Navy and was the owner of George’s Restaurant and Pizza on Ocean Avenue in New London and later Appy’s Restaurant in Groton.
