NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday in the area of Colman and Fern streets.
At 9:23 p.m., police responded to a report of multiple shots fired near Colman and Fern streets.
While officers were responding, the department received notification that an individual had been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.
The victim, an adult male, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremity, police said. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening at this time, police added.
The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing.
The New London Police Department is working to gather additional information.
