GROTON, CT — A man pleaded guilty to felony charges in connection with an accidental shooting in Groton, according to The Day of New London.
Caleb Bean, 31, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault. A judge imposed a fully suspended sentence and three years of probation.
In September 2025, Bean accidentally fired his gun while attempting to cycle the action on his rifle, police said.
He reported to 911 dispatchers that the bullet from his rifle went through the ceiling of his apartment and struck a female victim in the apartment above his.
The victim was hospitalized.
