NEW LONDON, CT — Pequot Avenue holds the top two spots among New London's most expensive homes for sale, including a waterfront house where the listing promises a daily parade of submarines, ferries and sailboat races. Four of the city's five priciest homes on Zillow.com are near the water.
No. 1 on the list is 670 Pequot Ave., where Long Island Sound meets the Thames River, listed at $2,695,000 after a $300,000 price cut on Aug. 22. The 1957 house sits on land that was once part of the Gilded Age Pequot Colony, and it has 5,501 square feet, five bedrooms and four full bathrooms on 0.41 acres. It has its own beach and a private mooring for a boat up to 40 feet long, and the views take in three historic lighthouses. It has been on Zillow for 86 days.
Just behind it, down the avenue at 929 Pequot Ave., is a renovated 1988 house with views of the Sound, at $1,888,000 after a $107,000 price cut on Oct. 15. The 3,350-square-foot home has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half bathroom, walls of windows and a chef's kitchen with an oversized island. It has been on Zillow for 104 days.
Rounding out the top three is 27 Jerome Road, a 2019 shoreline house with water views, at $1,095,000. The 2,400-square-foot home has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom, 9-foot ceilings and a walk-out lower level. The listing says its solar panels bring monthly electric bills to zero. It has been on Zillow for 104 days.
No. 4 is 9 Shirley Lane, a 1930 Colonial in the Sixth District a short walk from the beach, listed at $789,900. The 2,790-square-foot house has five bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, seasonal water views, a four-season porch and a detached two-car garage. It has been on Zillow for 14 days.
Closing out the top five is 17 Elrin Place, a remodeled raised ranch on a cul-de-sac steps from Ocean Beach and Alewife Cove, at $575,000. Built in 1968, the 3,110-square-foot house has five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It has been on Zillow for 38 days.
Prices, listing status and days on market are from each property's Zillow.com listing as of Oct. 26, 2026, and may change. Only homes marked "For sale" or offered as new construction were included; pending, coming-soon, land-only and multifamily listings were left out.
