Great Escape: Green Gardens

Something To Do, Just For You

With spring in the air and a need to shake off the winter blues, escape to in Waterford to help gear up for our season of growth and renewal that officially begins in less than two weeks.

Green Survival Gardens sits in the heart of Waterford, across the street from Waterford High School, at 29 Rope Ferry Road.

Take time from your busy schedule and indulge in browsing through Green Survival Gardens’ beautiful greenhouse filled with house plants. It’ll only get more diverse as the weeks progress and you’ll find goodies to plant in that home garden you’re planning. The center is also the place to go for fresh eggs, local honey and maple syrup, and later in the season, fruit and vegetables.

You’ll find lots of expertise from the Verkade family, which has offered planting and gardening advice for seven generations. The family began a wholesale nursery business in 1916 and opened its retail garden and feed center in 1975.

So, while you’re waiting for spring and green to arrive, treat yourself to some green already well on its way.
