1950s-Style New Milford Restaurant Closes For Good: Report

DinerLuxe has closed after 9 years in business, according to a report.

NEW MILFORD, CT — DinerLuxe in New Milford has closed permanently, according to The Danbury News-Times. The Danbury Road eatery opened in 2014.

New Milford Mayor Pete Bass confirmed the closing but did not know the reason for the closing, The Danbury News-Times reported.

The restaurant is known for its retro 1950s appearance. The building was previously a Friendly's before DinerLuxe opened.

The last post on its social media was from the summer of 2020.

On its Facebook page, one patron wrote, "Dinerluxe is a family based restaurant with outstanding service and wonderful atmosphere!!! Let's not forget the food lol is absolutely delicious!!"

Another person wrote, "My husband and I had dinner there today. We had the BEST BURGERS we’ve ever had. Everything we had was PERFECT. I can’t wait to go back. We love the RETRO DINER LOOK AND FEEL."
