NEW MILFORD, CT — The New Milford Town Council considers a $529,200 state grant for a new traffic signal at Grove Street and Hine Hill Road and paving part of River Road in Gaylordsville, as early voting gets set to open Oct. 19.

1. Council Weighs $529,200 Grant For New Traffic Signal
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 7 p.m. (livestreamed)
Where: E. Paul Martin Room (upstairs), Roger Sherman Town Hall, 10 Main St.
What to know: The Town Council will consider accepting a $529,200 Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program grant, with no town match, to install a new traffic signal at Grove Street and Hine Hill Road, according to the agenda. Also up: a $2,880 grant for the senior center's 24-week Tai Ji Quan balance program, paving a 1,500-foot stretch of River Road in Gaylordsville, council meeting dates and an executive session on the Barton House New Milford LLC tax appeal. 2. Early Voting Opens Oct. 19 At Pettibone Community Center
When: Oct. 19 to Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 and 29)
Where: John Pettibone Community Center, 2 Picket District Road
What to know: Early voting, including weekends, and same-day registration will be at the community center, according to the Registrar of Voters. On Election Day, Nov. 3, voters go to their district polling places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and same-day registration moves to the lower level of Town Hall.

3. Free Power Of Attorney And Living Will Clinic
When: Friday, Oct. 16, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., by appointment
Where: New Milford Senior Center, 40 Main St.
What to know: Attorney Michelle Liguori will meet with seniors by appointment about powers of attorney and living wills, according to the senior center's October calendar.
