<a href="https://judyblackpark.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens</a> invites the community to celebrate the return of spring in style at a festive Kentucky Derby watch party on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Often called “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” the Kentucky Derby will be streamed live at the park, with post time set for 6:57 pm. Guests are encouraged to gather early, settle in and enjoy the lively atmosphere as anticipation builds for the big race.
In true Derby tradition, attendees are invited to don their finest headwear and take part in a spirited hat contest. Don your biggest, most creative and classic Derby style.&nbsp;
The evening will also feature light bites and refreshing drinks, offering the perfect complement to a spring evening spent with friends and neighbors.

Our mission organization, Halos and Hammers, has been doing work around the nation for decades and hopes to continue for many more! This year, the group heads to Koinonia Family Camp. A Non-Profit Organization in Highland Lake, NY, where they will build entire cabins for future campers to enjoy.

Spirituals, hymns, hollers and work songs were sung either to express a yearning for a better life or gratitude for already having one. Guitarist Walter Parks, longtime sideman to Woodstock legend Richie Havens, is fascinated by this historical music’s universal applicability and power. While he uses this repertoire to entertain, he also hopes to make a case for embracing the inescapable togetherness of races and cultures by performing this music in concert with his new group, The Unlawful Assembly.
