Camp MasterChef Returns to Kent for Summer 2019

Some of the instructors are competing in tonight's two-hour finale.

KENT, CT — MasterChef is returning to Kent in the form of a culinary camp at Kent School next summer.

MasterChef and MasterChef Junior are shows on Fox TV that blend culinary challenges and inspirational stories. The show's producers partnered with Campus Cerdanya to create Camp MasterChef. Launched 2014 in Spain, these one- and two-week themed summer camps debuted in the U.S. last year in suburban Atlanta, Georgia and in Kent. Camps at Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston have been added to the summer 2019 schedule.

Camp MasterChef will be ramping up its talent roster, as well, with the addition of current MasterChef finalists Gerron Hurt (Nashville), Cesar Cano (Houston) and Ashley Mincey (Miami), who are competing in tonight’s two-hour finale, airing from 8:00-10:00 p.m. on FOX.

The TV shows' producers, Endemol Shine, tout the camp as an "immersive culinary experience," designed for kids and teens ages 8-16. Campers have the chance to meet, mingle, get hands-on tips from and cook alongside the series' celebrity chefs. Programming includes special competitions, hands-on cooking lessons, outdoor sports activities, interactive challenges and more.

One- and two-week sessions are being held in Kent from July 7 to August 3, 2019. More information is available on the program's website.
