Candlewood Lake Teen Identified, Body Found
The body was recovered around noon on Wednesday, New Milford Police reported.

NEW MILFORD, CT — The body of the 17-year-old boy who has been missing since Monday from Candlewood Lake has been found.
The boy, whose body was recovered around noon, is Joshua Dasilva, a New Milford resident and student at Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, the police report.
Search and rescue teams from New Milford, surrounding towns, the state, and the specialists from Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue were on site in the Dike Point Park area since late Monday afternoon.

Police said the Dasilva disappeared while swimming with friends on Candlewood Lake.
Henry Abbott Technical High School released a statement on Wednesday, indicating that they feared the worst on Tuesday: "Prior to the beginning of the school day on 5/28, Henry Abbott Tech assembled the school's crisis team, which consists of school administration, counselors, social workers and a school psychologist. The crisis team has been providing counseling support to students and anyone in the school community who may need it throughout the day with specific attention to the school’s trade area of the missing student (electrical). They will continue to be available throughout the week and will seek additional counseling support from the State Department of Education and other tech schools if necessary."

In a post, translated from Portuguese, on her Facebook page, Joshua’s mother, Eliane Dasilva, wrote,"God gave me, God took blessed be the name Lord Jesus! The deepest pain I have ever felt in my life rest in peace my son! I will be in mourning until the day of my death."
