Dog with 2 Broken Legs from Car Crash Needs Help

A New Milford couple who rescues pets, lost four pets in a fire, and whose dog was hit by a car this week needs your help.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A New Milford couple needs help for their dog who got two broken legs after being hit by a car.

Cheryl and Steve Podyma's dog Keegan was injured last week and their friend Amanda Rose set up a fundraiser to help them cover the vet's expenses. The bills have reached $7,000 in just four days.

Rose wrote the following on the fundraising website:

"As many of you know, Cheryl and Steve Podyma spend most of their time saving the lives of innocent animals. Now they need your help. Their own dog Keegan got hit by a car earlier tonight and has two broken legs. He needs surgery on both. The bill is $7,000 as of now. This family has done so much for so many and now it's our turn to save a life. They lost 4 personal pets to a house fire last June and don't deserve to lose another."

To date they have raised $970 of their $7,000 goal.
