Emu 'Louis' Still Missing from New Milford
The 6-foot-2 bird has been missing for several days.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A local family is still hoping that its missing emu Louis is found.
Louis, who stands at 6-foot-2 jumped a 6-foot fence Jan. 7. When owner Valerie Smith of Smith Family Farm went to check on him she saw footprints leading toward the driveway.
"He is a big bird, but we haven't heard anything yet," Smith said. "There are lots of woods and farms nearby that he could be hiding in."

She also worries about the cold and wild animals that could've gotten to him. His dark plumage could make him difficult to spot.
The farm has had Louis for about five months and he was given to them by the previous owner in Bethel. The farm also has a number of other animals including goats, ponies and donkeys.
