FEMA Awards Grant to Danbury Fire Company

DANBURY, CT -- A Danbury fire company is the recipient of $125,000 in federal grants.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) provided the funding for Padanaram Hose Company #3 to buy a pumper truck.

Fire companies in New Milford and Mansfield were also FEMA beneficiaries, to the tune of 909,091 and $42,858, respectively.

U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, as well as U.S. Reps. Elizabeth Esty and Joe Courtney applauded the grants.

“This federal funding will give firefighters in Mansfield, Danbury, and New Milford the resources and gear needed to do their jobs safely and effectively,” the Connecticut delegation said in a release. “We’ll continue to fight to preserve these vital federal programs that invest in our first responders and ensure that they are well-equipped to keep our communities safe.”
