FEMA Awards Grant to New Milford Fire Company
Water Witch Hose Company #2 was the beneficiary.

NEW MILFORD, CT -- A New Milford fire company is the recipient of over $909,000 in federal grants.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) provided $909,091 in funding for Water Witch Hose Company #2 to buy a tower ladder truck.
Fire companies in Danbury and Mansfield were also FEMA beneficiaries, to the tune of $125,000 and $42,858, respectively.

U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, as well as U.S. Reps. Elizabeth Esty and Joe Courtney applauded the grants.
“This federal funding will give firefighters in Mansfield, Danbury, and New Milford the resources and gear needed to do their jobs safely and effectively,” the Connecticut delegation said in a release. “We’ll continue to fight to preserve these vital federal programs that invest in our first responders and ensure that they are well-equipped to keep our communities safe.”
