UPDATE: All Animals Accounted For After New Milford Barn Fire

The fire broke out at a barn early Friday

NEW MILFORD, CT — A passing motorist reported the fire to Water Witch Hose #2 in New Milford, but it wasn't long before crews from all around the area were converging on a barn ablaze Friday morning.

First responders to the fire on Town Farm Road arrived on the scene around 9:00 a.m., and set tankers to shuttle water from Grove Street and Hine Hill, closing roads in the area.

Additional alarms were placed, and firefighters from Northville, Gaylordsville, Brookfield, Sherman, Bridgewater, Roxbury, and Washington poured into New Milford to assist the local crews.Firefighters from Hawleyville and Stony Hill were called upon to provide station coverage to the region’s stripped firehouses.

"When the smoke settled the barn was still standing, all animals were safely accounted for and no injuries were reported," a spokesperson for Water Witch Hose #2 wrote on the company's Facebook page.
