First-Time Home Buyer Workshop June 9th in New Milford
Learn the basics of home ownership

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and Newtown Savings Bank will host a workshop for first-time home-buyers at the New Milford Town Hall from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. on June 9th. The workshop will explain the procedures and key terms of home buying, and review the basics of home mortgages and financial planning.
Newtown Savings Bank Vice President, Mortgage Banker Thomas Lutz and Mortgage Loan Officer Theresa Torino will explain the steps to take before a home search, the advantages of home ownership, and how to qualify for a mortgage. Housatonic Habitat volunteer Allison Homberg will discuss the Habitat model which includes a 0% Habitat-held mortgage for families who meet specific criteria. A second workshop is scheduled for June 23rd from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Western Connecticut State University’s Student Union on White St. in Danbury.
