Fundraiser Started For New Milford Family Devastated By Fire
The community has stepped up to help a family who lost "almost everything" when their New Milford home burned to the ground.
NEW MILFORD, CT — The community has stepped up to help a family whose home was burned to the ground. More than $7,000 has been contributed via GoFundMe to help Mickey Than and his daughter, Tayla, rebuild their lives.
Kolyann Than started the fundraiser. She wrote that the fire was "intentionally caused by another person."
"Luckily they’re both well and safe at the moment," Kolyann Than wrote. "However, they’ve lost almost everything as Mickey was only able to grab his legal documentation and some of his daughter’s clothes. Mickey was an avid collector of rare cool stuff since adolescence and all that is now gone. We all know that material items can be replaced however more dear to him were photos of his mom that could never be recovered again."

She added that "Mickey was always that person to help almost anyone if they ever needed a helping hand as he would not even expect a thing in return. But now, he’s in need of help and any amount given will be deeply appreciated."
