'Furry' Online Activities Prompt New Milford Councilman To Resign
A town councilman resigned after his furry profile came to light, which said that he "tolerates" rape.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Town Council Member Scott Chamberlain will resign after his involvement in Furry Fandom came to light. "Furries" are people who dress in animal costumes. It wasn't so much Chamberlain's involvement in Furry Fandom that had people perturbed, but part of his online profile that said he "tolerates" rape.
Screenshots of Chamberlain's profile on a private furry website were uploaded to a Facebook community page, according to the News-Times.
Chamberlain said his part in the furry community had nothing to do with sex and was an interest in cartoon animals. He said he believes someone created an account on the site to get private information.
