Heat Closes New Milford Schools Early
Wednesday will be the first day of school, but it will be a short one.
NEW MILFORD, CT — Public Schools in New Milford begin class Wednesday, Aug. 29, but they will kick off with only a half-day due to the heat.
New Milford High School and Schaghticoke Middle School will dismiss at noon. The elementary schools and Sarah Noble Intermediate School will ring the bell at 1 p.m. Afternoon EXCEL pre-kindergarten classes are canceled.
A heat advisory is in effect in New Milford on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
