Marvelwood Students to attend the Round Square International Conference

Three area students and one from Afghanistan will represent The Marvelwood School at the annual RISC in Switzerland in October

Four Marvelwood students will represent the School at the annual Round Square International Conference (RSIC) in October, 2016. Victoria Sanchez ‘18 and Guy Kennedy ‘18 of Kent, Sky Trapella ‘18 of Cornwall, and Zohra Moradi ‘18 of Kabul, Afganistran, will attend the four-day conference at Aiglon College in Switzerland. The theme of the conference is The Journey that Makes Us… and students from 160 schools from around the world will gather at either Aiglon College or Stiftung Louisenlund in Germany for a combination of guest speakers, group discussions, cultural visits, community service and adventure activities. Marvelwood is one of just six US schools, including The Hotchkiss School and Emma Willard School, to be members of Round Square. Founded in 1966, Round Square maintains and facilitates a worldwide network of 160 member schools in 40 countries. Member schools share a holistic approach to learning built around six IDEALS of learning: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service. The Round Square network offers schools a framework for excellence and continuous improvement, along with structured opportunities to collaborate and share experiences with like-minded peers around the world.
