MEW MILFORD, CT — Mayor Pete Bass has named Lt . Spencer Cerruto, currently with the Watertown Police Department, as the new Chief of Police for New Milford. He is expected to take the reins in November.
Cerruto takes over from former Chief Shawn Boyne, whose contract expired on Sunday.
Bass praised the new chief as having "over 30 years of progressive police and command experience (and) a strong commitment to community policing."
