New Milford DUI Checkpoint Planned On Danbury Road

Police said the checkpoint is part of an effort to keep roads safe and prevent impaired driving.

NEW MILFORD, CT —New Milford police plan to conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, Sept. 4, on Danbury Road.

The checkpoint is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the area between Larson Road and Candlewood Lake Road South.

"Our mission is to keep our roads safe and prevent tragedies caused by impaired driving," police said.

Police urged drivers to always plan a safe ride home if they plan to drink, such as by using a designated driver, ride share, or taxi.

"If you drink and drive, you risk your license, your freedom, and someone’s life," police said.
