UPDATE: New Winner Announced in New Milford Election Results 2018
Many races across the state carried on into Wednesday.

NEW MILFORD, CT — New Milford residents went to the polls Tuesday and came home with more than a few surprises, including one race that dragged into the wee hours and beyond.
The decision in the contest for the 30th Senatorial District had yet to be made by Wednesday morning, as was the case with many close races across the state. But the latest data available from the secretery of state's website gives Republican Craig Miner the win, with 22,750 votes, to Democratic challenger David Lawson's 19,500 votes.
Republican Bill Buckbee is defeated Democrat Thomas O'Brien and won his second term to represent state House District 67.

For the U.S. House of Representatives race in the 5th District, Democrat Jahana Hayes defeated Republican Manny Santos to become the first black woman to be elected to the CT State Assembly.
Curent state representative Richard A. Smith, a Republican, ran unopposed in the 108th District.
