New Milford Fire Displaces Family Of 3

A house fire in New Milford displaced a family of three Wednesday.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire in the Merryall section of town Wednesday. The company was alerted to the fire just before noon, according to a post from Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford.

A family of three was displaced from the Clearview Drive home, according to The Danbury News-Times. No one was home when the fire started.

Firefighters arrived to find a "well-involved" blaze at the rear of the two-story single-family home. Firefighters conducted a primary search while a fire engine pulled up to put quick water on the fire.

A town wide "all call" was activated, which brought over 10,000 gallons of water to the scene by three tankers from Gaylordsville and Northville, until firefighters established a water supply at a nearby pond.

The two adults and teenager displaced by the fire are receiving assistance from the Red Cross, according to The Danbury News-Times.
