The New Milford Homeless Shelter Coalition​ has closed its doors after 21 years, according to a report.

NEW MILFORD, CT — The New Milford Homeless Shelter Coalition has closed its doors after 21 years, according to The Danbury News-Times. The coalition was founded in 2001 due to community concern about unhoused people in town.

The organization was 100 percent volunteer and funded by private donations.

One official said that they have only received a handful of calls over the last two years asking if they were open.
