New Milford Man, 24, Sentenced for Manslaughter After Drug Sale Went Wrong: Report

The man was sentenced in connection with a 2015 death of a suspected drug dealer.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A 24-year-old New Milford man was sentenced to prison in connection with the death of a suspected drug dealer, according to the Republican American.

Steven Vlash, 24, was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday on a charge of first degree manslaughter stemming from the death of Carl Brown Jr. in 2015. Brown, 35, was killed after he struck his back on a road sign and was found suffering a head injury.

Witnesses testified Brown was last seen holding on to Vlash's truck window as it drove away. Police suspect that Vlash and a defendant were attempting to purchase crack cocaine from Brown.
