New Milford Man Charged With DWI In New York
New York state police are cracking down on impaired driving.

New York State Police in Troop K removed 16 allegedly impaired drivers from the roads over the weekend of July 27-29, including two from Connecticut: a New Milford resident and a Danbury man.
- On July 27, State Police arrested Carlos Hernandez Avila, 39, of Danbury, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
- On July 29, State Police arrested Majed Faya, 32, of New Milford, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
