New Milford Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Juveniles: Police
A man caught in Colorado is facing multiple charges and was held on $1.5 million bond.
NEW MILFORD, CT — A man accused of sexual assault and providing minors with drugs was arrested in Colorado, according to police. New Milford police received information from Bethel police Dec. 8 that three juvenile victims had received drugs and had sex with an adult male suspect in New Milford.
Detectives identified the suspect as Luis Torrez, 30, who had recently moved to New Milford.
Police attempted to locate Torrez but were unsuccessful. New Milford detectives worked with the U.S. Marshal Service to track the fugitive.

Police received information May 22 that Torrez was in Colorado. Officers from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office were requested to follow up on the information. Torrez was found and taken into custody without incident.
Following a court hearing May 23, Torrez waived extradition. New Milford detectives went to Colorado for the extradition.

Torrez was charged with four counts of trafficking persons, eight counts of risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children, four counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of employing a minor in an obscene performance, three counts of promoting a minor in an obscene performance, six counts of distribution of a controlled substance, and three counts of providing alcohol to a minor.
Torrez was flown back to Connecticut and held on a combined $1.5 million bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
