NEW MILFORD, CT — A man charged <a href="https://www.newstimes.com/news/article/New-Milford-man-sentenced-to-prison-in-2019-death-17375031.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">in connection</a> with his wife's November 2019 death received a suspended jail sentence as part of a plea deal, according to The Danbury News-Times. Joshua Hilliard, 39, of New Milford, was sentenced to 10 years in jail, suspended after 3 years, plus 5 years of probation. Hilliard pleaded guilty to one count of risk of injury to a child as several additional charges were dropped as part of a plea deal. Hilliard was arrested in August 2020 following an investigation into a November 2019 domestic violence incident that resulted in his wife's death.
