New Milford Officials Struggle to Bridge Revenue Gaps

Town and school officials are working at digging the municipality out of $2.2 million hole.

NEW MILFORD, CT --- Town officials are searching for creative ways to bridge a $2.2 million deficit for the current year and batten the hatches in anticipation of more than $3 million in state cuts for the next fiscal year, the News-Times is reporting.

The self-insurance plan that the town and schools use for health insurance, as well as ways of combining school and town purchasing power, are all under the microscope.
