New Milford Readies 'Rally for Humanity'

The rally will spotlight the country's current immigration policy.

NEW MILFORD: A "Rally for Humanity" has been scheduled for New Milford, Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church from 4 to 6 p.m.

The rally will spotlight the country's current immigration policy. According to a release from event organizers, “We, the people, are ready to stand up, speak out and make our voices heard to stop the current zero tolerance enforcement of people seeking asylum in our country."

The event is sponsored by Action Together Network, which "connects leaders of activist groups and creators of resources for activists with one another and provides them with support services," according to its website.

Speakers scheduled to appear include Rev. Jack Gilpin, of St. John's Episcopal Church; Alex da Silva Souto, of the United Methodist Church of New Milford; Rabbi Ari Rosenberg, from Temple Sholom New Milford; and Megan Goslin, a child trauma expert.

St. John’s Episcopal Church is located at on 7 Whittlesey Avenue.
