New Milford Resident Wins $50,000 in Golf Game

New Milford resident Scot Killen won $50,000 at a 'Chopper Dropper' fundraising event.

NEW MILFORD, CT-- A New Milford man has won a nice chunk of change at a Florida gold tournament, according to Space Coast Daily.

Scot Killen, a 1988 graduate of Florida Tech and rower at the school won the prize at Florida's Suntree Country Club, the news site states.

The 'Chopper Dropper' is the university’s biggest fundraiser for athletic scholarships. Thee contest involves dropping 2,000 numbered golf balls from a helicopter onto a putting green,. The person closest to the pin of that number wins a $50,000 grand prize.

Killen said he will donate a portion of his winnings to the university’s Boat House fund.
