New Milford School Board Approves $64.6 Million Budget
The plan is 2.5 percent more that the current budget

NEW MILFORD, CT — The school board approved the 2019-20 budget, which came in at $64.6 million, the News Times is reporting. The unanimous vote came at a meeting Thursday night.
The plan is 2.5 percent more that the current budget, but nearly $423,000 less than originally proposed in the $65 million plan drafted by the interim superintendent Stephen Tracy. That plan was 3.26 higher than the current budget.
An assistant principal for Sarah Noble Intermediate School and a director of curriculum and instruction, included in Tracy's proposal, did not make the cut.

The biggest drivers of the spending increase are personnel and transportation costs, along with The biggest reasons for the increase are personnel costs and transportation, as well as around $184,000 less in state revenue and removing pay to play, which generates $110,000.
