New Milford Schools Chairman in Bid for State Senate
David Lawson has served four terms on the school board.

NEW MILFORD, CT — David Lawson, chairman of the New Milford Board of Education, has announced he is running again for the 30th state Senate District.
Lawson, 59, is a New Milford resident for 30 years and has served on the the school board for four terms.
In a media release, Lawson presented himself as an eco-friendly candidate who supports the preservation of open space, waterways and farmlands. He also advocates for affordable healthcare, including funding mental-health and anti-opiate programs.

The seat is currently held by Republican state Sen. Craig Miner, who defeated Lawson, a Democrat, in the 2016 election. In the run-up, neither man had been challenged in their party's primaries.
