New Milford Schools Cope With Budget Cuts
The school board removed items from its original budget but has preserved other programs.
NEW MILFORD, CT — The school board managed to preserve programs such as band, practical arts, buses for athletes and the talented and gifted program despite steep cuts, The Greater New Milford Spectrum reported. The town council recently approved use of $200,000 of the schools' budget surplus to lower that figure. Among items cut were a plan to replace copiers, consulting fees, and bringing in new administrators at lower salaries than their predecessors.
