New Milford Sets Date For First RiverFest

The Riverfront Revitalization Committee plans a "celebration of community and a time to gather with friends and family." ​

NEW MILFORD, CT — The Town will be presenting its first-ever Riverfest on Sat., Oct.13 from noon to 9:30 p.m. at Young’s Field Park, on Young’s Field, across from the banks of the Housatonic River.

The event is being organized by the Riverfront Revitalization Committee, which plans a "celebration of community and a time to gather with friends and family."

Other sponsors are the Office of Mayor Pete Bass and the Corporation for New Milford’s Economic Development.

Attractions include:

  • Live music and entertainment
  • Food trucks and local food vendors
  • Beer and Wine Garden
  • Cyclocross races
  • Arts and crafts vendors
  • Environmental education
  • Children’s activities

To highlight the Downtown there will be an artisan pop-up at the Makery on Bank Street, tours of historic government buildings, and guided walks along the new one-mile “Downtown to the River Loop,” offering free T-shirts to the first 50 walkers of all ages to sign up.

While admission is free, patrons are being encouraged to make donations of five dollars per person to offset event expenses.
