New Milford Voters Approve $6 Million Roads Bond

The first wave of repairs will be on Long Mountain and Squire Hill roads​.

NEW MILFORD, CT --- About 100 residents unanimously approved the $6 million bond issue to pay for infrastructure projects over the next two years. The referendum, voted upon at Town Hall on Monday night, allows the first phase of the project, addressing repairs to Long Mountain and Squire Hill roads, as well as a bridge on Tamarack Road, to begin.

This initial round of road repairs is the first drop in a $40 million bucket. The total public works project is expected to take about eight years. Repairs to roads not specified in the bond work are to be be incorporated into long-term planningwith money allocated annually in the operating budget or from the capital reserve fund.
