New Milford Voters Reject Budget Plan

Voter turn-out was light.

NEW MILFORD, CT — Voters rejected the schools’ $63.3 million budget and approved the $38.3 million town budget in a referendum last night. However, the town charter stipulates that such a split means the entire budget fails.

The combined $101.6 million budget is about $583,000 more than the current year.

Voter turnout was low, likely due to the storm.
